Kulaks wealthier peasants who owned their own farms (they had the most to lose) (often resisted collectivization)
They were killed or sent to Gulags in Siberia (Gulag:Prison camp. Work camps out in the cold.)
Seen as a threat to collectivization due to their free enterprise ideals (capitalist ideals)
