Before the 1950's the Truman doctrine and the Marshal plans were installed post WW2 to help stop the spread of communism in Europe. During the 1950's anti-communism spread worldwide through the Eisenhower doctrine. The Eisenhower doctrine stated that if a foreign country was in conflict and in jeopardy of being forced into communism that the United States would intervene with military support to secure and protect the territorial integrity and political independence of such nations, through economic support. Much like the Truman doctrine it provided assets to countries who pledged to stay democratic during a time when communism was on the rise . Several organizations emerged from this, each being assigned to major sections of the world
This combined with ongoing paranoia about communist outlooks in American society such McCarthyism enabled the US to prevent the spread of communism to a certain degree worldwide.
